Acer’s Samsung Series 5 Chromebook rival, running the Chrome OS, has been detailed.
Acer has just detailed its
new Chrome OS device, which is all set to challenge
Samsung’s Series 5 Chromebook that launched just last week. The Acer Chromebook, previously called the AC700, will use the newly launched Chrome OS, and will sport a 11.6-inch CineCrystal HD LCD, compared to the Samsung’s 12.1-inch WXGA display. The first version will come with only WiFi, but a 3G capable version will be released later this year.
Although Nokia is officially now switching to the Windows Phone 7 platform from the aging Symbian, it hasn’t completely let go of MeeGo. A result of a partnership with Intel, MeeGo is an Linux-based OS developed mostly indigenously by Nokia. So this announcement has taken most people by surprise.
Archos has released its Android 2.2 tablet, the Arnova 7, featuring a seven-inch resistive TFT touchscreen (800×480 pixels). The bargain $100 price makes you think twice about something fishy going on (or at least, it did us).
